Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is damage to the brain which is caused by an external physical force such as a vehicle accident, a gunshot wound to the head, or a fall. According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were nearly 61,000 TBI-related deaths in 2019.
